I liked Kagi enough to use it as my default search engine back when I was regularly employed and could justify ten+ bucks a month for a boutique search engine. I don’t know how they plan to survive though, given that they use Google’s indices extensively. Google isn’t exactly going to let another company eat its lunch.

I’ve quite enjoyed Kagi but I kinda doubt they’ll be around for long. But it has inspired me to work on a tool so I can have my own ! queries or redirects without having to rely on them or other search sites.

Perhaps. In a blog post they shared they would currently cover their technical expenses with their income but not the wages, which is a shame in my opinion. A clear business model that does not rely on ads and tracking makes me feel better using it.

Never heard of them but after looking them both up, Kagi’s customization features like domain blocking seem really handy. I’d love to never see another Quora link.

From what I’ve read on here the people that use them like them. If you value your privacy enough to pay for a search engine you’ll probably like it. I believe I’ve seen Kagi mentioned the most
