  • Compilers ain’t a problem for me. Compilers aren’t enabling people to claim writing they never wrote as their own so they can sell “books”. Compliers aren’t generating false information on purpose in order to trick me because it was built to be a gaslighting yes man¹. Compilers aren’t deleting anything from certain files to whole directories¹ off my system unless I tell them to.

I don’t have to worry about a compiler trying to steal all my data¹ in order to please braindead C-suites trying to replace all humans with clankers. So I have zero issues with a good genAI free compiler.

¹ unless they have been compromised/my system has been infected

  • Hell, the music player app I use on my phone ( auxio ) just recently changed a UI component that I now hate to death. Scroll down a list and you’d see a scrollbar, which is usually faster for my over 500 songs. When you’d use the scrollbar, it used to display a square with whatever letter you are on in your list. They replaced it with a horrific spinny gear looking thing! Very first world problem, I know, but I absolutely hate it!

  • I was almost at the point earlier of asking someone if they could help with a wifi card issue, but so glad I don’t have to now. I always feel like I always bungle something up whenever I try to explain what my problem is and/or paste any logs or whatever is needed to help, so I relate to this meme.

Thank goodness for ethernet and my ability to realize I need to add that ethernet connection as a new internet connection. Now I can have internet access and be able to use it to research a card that not only fits, but also works with linux.

  • I don’t know much about it at all and cannot find much, but I have recently heard of Kamtape. The site has the look of July 2005, apparently, but I think it might go the way of most every other noncorporate video platform like Odysee and Rumble and start getting filled with unsavory people.

And unless Odysee has changed, we ain’t got really any alternatives besides just blocking ads or Peertube. Even then, it would be real hard to get creators to move onto either platform for not wanting to deal with a site where slurs can be reported but aren’t guaranteed to be removed ( in the case of Odysee ) and payment isn’t as guaranteed as it is with yt ( which is already shaky as all hell )

  • From my understanding, higher ups weren’t pleased with the first season because they wanted something more like 2000s The Batman, but with a teen/younger Batman. Something less BTAS and more marketable and enjoyable to a wide net of younger viewers, and having Batman take on corporate corruption isn’t what they envisioned.

But yeah, season 1 with all the beef with Powers and corporate shenanigans going on was a welcome change of pace for a Batman character.

  • Based on what I read/saw and got out of it, I am real disappointed it looks like it’s gonna be using genAI instead of another form of AI we’ve been using for transcription. Otherwise, sounds like trying to be a modern genAI version of that speech to text software I’d see ads for on TV. Possibly good for accessibility, but I’ll wait and see after it comes out.

At least they claim the whole thing to be done offline after model installation and it’s allegedly sandboxed with the audio data being stored in a memory buffer that allegedly will be erased after the session. So I’ll have to wait and see how this all plays out before making more judgments on it.

  • That table is the best table you’ll ever get. Will last for a very long time so long as it wasn’t made after maybe the 80s or 90s. So long as you ain’t doing anything rough on it, it will last a lifetime.

Though, growing up, we had nicer wood back chairs. I never had problems with them. Worst problem I had was always being the one who had to take a seat that was up against a wall, so I had to slide in and didn’t have a lot of room to adjust where my chair was, besides maybe moving a little to the right.
