Sleep is my favourite function to complain about, it breaks shit at random on windows and Linux, nobody seems to know why or how. The fact that sleep works as well as it does on consoles and steam deck is a miracle to me.

I have a friend who runs arch, and recommends arch to people. His computer constantly has problems because he doesn’t fully know what he’s doing.

I respect doing it for yourself, you do you, but I feel like he’s actively discouraging my friends from giving Linux a go because of his constant issues. Recommending the hardest distro to beginners just bugs me.

Snaps are annoying, I tried to use them once for something and then have basically ignored them. They aren’t hugely core as something in windows would be.

Your system might need some variety of priest by the sound of it, though I’ve had my own set of weirdness, so I can’t judge. I just found out the reason native Linux games have been such pigs is because the integrated graphics nothing was supposed to use was being used.

You know that sounds an awful lot like how windows GUI behaves. I only recently started daily driving and the amount of gui elements you can change is kind blowing.

For real, installing Linux nowadays is pretty painless for the most part, windows has this 27 stage process for opting out of a online account.

Like both have issues, you’re just used to the windows issues, but those are progressively getting more intrusive.
