Came here to say this. Me and my wife were playing games from DOS and win95/98 days thanks to the internet archive recently. It really felt like digging up memories.

8·8 months agoSaw some comment by a manager on linkedin saying something like “Yeah, AI can replace developers now”, and I’m just thinking good luck with that buddy.
It doesn’t. Cracking programs don’t use the user login form repeatedly. They use the same algorithm that creates the publicly encoded password to generate encoded passwords and keep going until they have a match. Besides getting the encoded password and salt, everything is done offline.
This just creates a really bad user experience.
This is more than 20 years ago. Things could be better now, or even worse given the current administration. My biases lean toward worse.
