My wife never knew where her windows files are, so I installed Linux on her laptop, she is not happy about Linux, but happier than in windows.

Reality: they just use our values against us.

Once people is all in, monthly price will skyrocket… It’s always the same.

As a startup it’s nice, then scales and has to become profitable.

Hopefully in the process will destroy any retirement alternative by price dumping.

I use self hosted nextcloud for backup, synchronization is so fast, I got a cron job that synchronizes every 15 mins.

Before that I was using rclone for backups in idrive (super cheap s3 equivalent)

I’m starting to have similar feeling, and it’s not because of the leaders, it’s because of copies doggy business models, no right to repair, suscription everywhere, planned obsolescence meanwhile they call them self “green”

And take and red hat here then Slackware… It’s hard to believe you haven’t tried fedora.

And if you like arch, try cachyos, it’s the same but with more compilation optimization: performance for free.
