  • Ngl I was doing that for a while, google search is ass these days, even 4 years ago, ai was more useful for finding sources than google. I was using bingai at the time and I would also google and try to find sources the regular way, I had way more success just telling ai to only return edu sources (or similar instructions, idr exactly since it’s been a while) People that seek easy results with no effort could’ve got them through chegg back before ai really took off. It was always an active choice to learn how to do a problem rather than just grabbing an answer and faking the proof. (Ngl mostly because exams are proctored or in person, but that hasn’t changed even with AI, students will still fail to passs their classes and get degrees if they rely purely on AI)

  • I just haven’t used photoshop or illustrstor in ages so I have no idea what I’m missing out on, tried inkscape and gimp a little, both remind me of blender in that they are not intuitive and require watching some tutorials to figure out how to do anything

Which also goes for nodes, but adobe programs always felt a bit more intuitive and easy to just hop in and figure stuff out, like if you knew one itd be even easier to use another

  • All you need for games can be grabbed from flathub, like what you need to grab ge proton, that and steam you are mostly set. I also use faugus launcher every once in a while. All distros support flathub, id worry more about what de you want since thats the real commitment. Marginal differences in actual usage if any, like being on bazzite, cachyos, or mint, I use the same exact apps, installed different ways sometimes.

My only 2 issues with bazzite has been that it names the computer bazzite, so my handheld with bazzite can’t use an app to share its mouse across monitors since they have the same usernames and it causes issues and my amazon handbrake doesnt work, seems to be a bazzite issue and not all of linux since their are workarounds that work for others not using bazzite.
