aaa you’re so pretty <3 I can’t wait for my hair removal sessions
There’s a long list of resources here and the blåhaj matrix has an active HRT room as well!
Best of luck <3
It’s actually not that complicated to do DIY! You don’t need to make the stuff yourself, but if you do it’s really cheap. In either case, gel is simple and easy and you essentially can’t do anything wrong. With injections it’s possible to make some mistakes in terms of dosages and such, but the consequences aren’t really that bad (mostly some discomfort that will pass).
I’m a rather forgetful person and sometimes I will take my injections a day late with no issue. When I took gel I would occasionally be late with my doses then and that was more noticeably uncomfortable.
If you aren’t comfortable with DIY however, then absolutely go look for a legit way of doing HRT. In either case, best of luck! I hope you can find a good way for you.
If you do go with DIY we have an active DIY chat on the matrix server, or you can check out the resources posted in c/diyhrt or make a post
Also check out the resources in the sidebar and this list!
I started in my late twenties and I talk to people who started way later. We are all happier for it. If you want to transition, go for it! Like lady autumn says, it relieves some dysphoria for lots of people, it might make things easier
So a dude here in norway has a trans webshop and the brands I see on there are Nereida and TransMissie/UNTAgG. Unsure what sizes they have available
If you can find a bikini skirt in your size that’s probably a good way to avoid future incidents :P
if I go on hormones and start to have a really bad time, then I guess I know I’m not trans.
Your gender is your own! If you feel like a woman then that’s it, you are a woman. If you take hormones and you don’t like it then you stop taking hormones and nothing else really changes. Maybe it can make you reconsider some things, sure, but plenty of trans people don’t take hormones, or only take them to achieve some goal and then stop. How important HRT is will vary from individual to individual. Yeah, for some people HRT is the difference between life and death, but brains are complicated and varied so you’ll have to feel things out and figure out what it is for you.
Transitioning is about exploring yourself and finding out how to change the way you express yourself to become more comfortable, and nothing more.
Best of luck, and may all your girldreams come true <3
Be sure to keep an eye on your smell as well! That and mental stuff were the first things I noticed
I’m sorry you are going through all this 🫂
There are some links you might want to check out in the sidebar
Oh I’ve completely forgotten this is a thing! Thank you very much
All routes are equally effective (as far as anyone call tell at least), I meant dosage yes
Not everyone has that opportunity. That said, OP, in many countries your doctor can help you with DIY by doing blood tests, or they might appreciate knowing you are doing DIY.
It’s maybe a bit much to say to avoid it completely, but oral is less effective than sublingual (by a lot) in addition to having a higher risk factor. You can typically take oral tablets sublingually as well, making the oral route even worse in that sense.
Good point! I understand you have to be a bit careful with binders, and that use should be minimized ?
Hi!
I would suggest you take a look at the following two links:
The first talks about how to do diy hrt, and the second talks about the actual effects.
Hairloss will stop once the dht (a form of androgen/male sexual hormone) in your system is gone or useless (how long this takes varies depending on how you do HRT). You might see some hair come back, but there are no guarantees.
Starting now will indeed make a difference! Any further masculinization will stop, and you will start feminizing instead. Your voice isn’t really changed by feminizing hrt. If HRT is something you want, I would advice starting now. There are no benefits to waiting.
Your dosage will depend on how you take HRT. The typical routes are oral (avoid), sublingual (under the tongue), transdermal (through the skin), and injections. Each has a number of plusses and minuses, but imo the two best routes are transdermal and injections with the latter being the most convenient and cheapest route.
I am personally doing something called monotherapy with injections, which means I take a larger dose of estradiol (estrogen) which suppresses my bodies natural testosterone production without hormone blockers as they can have uncomfortable side effects.
How quickly you get noticeably more fem varies. It can take months for your breasts to start showing, but a loose hoodie can hide breasts for a long time. I’m almost a year in and only those I’ve told am aware that I’m trans. Other effects like a more fem face and body isn’t really something your parents will notice, and can also be easily hidden with a hoodie.
I also recently started a local HRT community where there are even more links and resources for you to check out!
If you are considering HRT on some level then I recommend you check out this link: https://genderdysphoria.fyi/en/second-puberty-fem That website helped me a lot personally! It goes over the effects of E on your body
I dunno where you are, but you might be able to get finasteride (to stop hairloss) and minoxidil (to regain hair) from your GP or from a specialist that your GP refers you to. Another thing I’ve heard that might help is a dermaroller, but apparently that takes a long time to have any effect, and it probably works best with finasteride.
The only real way to stop hairloss is to deal with the cause which is DHT, a specific hormone. Finasteride/dutasteride are DHT blockers.
I haven’t used any of these things myself, but I’ve done some light research on behalf of my brother, and I’ve seen people discus these things before elsewhere.
Best of luck 💛 🤍 💜 🖤
Ah yes, the freedom to perform malpractice. What a big win for all those oppressed therapists this will be.
