Well, if you put it in for 1s at 450, will it come out black? Course not, it takes a little time. So there’s a time that’ll cook the surface perfectly. Turns out that, since pizza is very thin, a couple of minutes at 450 is perfect.
450 °C = 842 °F
450 °K = 176.85 °C = 350.33 °F
JUST shy of book-burning temperature (according to my learnings from reading Ray Bradbury).

Although if you put paper in a 450F oven, it’s definitely catching on fire (because swing temps).

My oven has a pizza mode 😆. Surely at 450 Celsius the pizza is just gonna come out black… I think pizza mode is more like 260 heated from underneath.
