The culture without the hats is a problem, the hats without the culture is not. Focusing only on the hats is focusing on a weird proxy for the actual issue.

The hats only matter in that they’re an indicator of the culture. The culture without the hats is a problem, the hats without the culture is not. Focusing only on the hats is focusing on a weird proxy for the actual issue.
