People have been misusing this template for as long as I’ve seen it. I don’t know why, but I’ve seen people write different things for the first and last person. This one, at least, doesn’t have that. What are the othee one offs?

It used to be part of the alphabet. We say “x, y, and z”. But it used to be “x, y, z, and per se, and” which would be written like “XYZ&”. So the alphabet had 27 characters in its recitation. And it’s also where we get it’s name. “and per se and” is shortened to “ampersand”.

We need to start with &. It wasn’t that long ago that it got removed.

I self host on windows. It just happened to be what I had on the box. Then I got started with docker. So that was great. When I have the time, I hope to switch to unraid, but need the time to be open enough to deal with the problem that will arise in getting the system set up just right.

But they are asking with the number zero specifically. “There is zero pig” is not how we speak.

It’s plural, but not because there are many pigs.

“How many pigs are there?” And answering with “There are no pigs” use the noun “pigs” in the same way. They are referring to the “pig” category or kind. When answering knowing the actual count, it’s a specific number or token.

Man… Sort working with my kiddo on this particular root issue. Getting to the answer is great. Do it fast for sure. But learning the skill of sustained effort is an important skill to develop. We’re using piano as our entry point. He’ll be able to get the piece down in about 45 to 60 minutes. So we’re working on developing creative expression in a piece, improv that allows for techniques learned in the piece, and then just introducing the next piece. I’m looking forward to him creatively engaging the same piece for an extended period of time.

“Gifted” education has come a long way since I was a kid. We know acceleration isn’t the only or even best tool for kids. And many gifted kids come with different executive functions so rote repetition feels like torture. Employing a depth of knowledge schema and circling back to previously learned concepts coupled with individual expression has been great! That and developing emotional tools for self regulation have been the primary efforts for the last few years. It’s been getting a lot better!

I looked into to using a laptop as a router a while back and decided against it. From what I read, the chip is designed for bursts of processing and isn’t designed to be under constant load like a router would be. That means the fan will always be running an you risk overheating, fan failure, and high power draw.

That’s my non professional recollection so take it with a grain of salt.
