I’m very interested in this. Any chance you have additional info on the options?

Next thing you know San Francisco will be renamed Orthanc and DC, Mordor.
We will avenge you Mr. Tolkien.

Can this become a traveling thing we all mail around as we finish with it/need it? Maybe a few community members build them and we start sharing them around! I know I’d be down to tinker this one of these, and I bet my roommate would have a good time zapping me.

Yeah! I like PeerTube. I want to start posting there, but I’m struggling to find the time to edit together videos.

I’d personally say most of those are “microblog” styled interfaces, but I can’t actually provide a clear cut definitional difference between “photo blog” and “micro blog” other than a vibes based thing about including photos in EVERY post or not.
But yeah, love all the options we have. I was just talking with someone about missing Web 1.0, I’ll have to check out GoToSocial and spin it up on my hardware.

Some how this slipped through the cracks among all the other suggestions, but PixelFed is sort of the only fedi photo blog alternative.

Oof. This hurt my soul. I tell myself it’s worth it “for the reproducibility”

There’s no chance I remember the exact source, but I did read something at one point about simulating a cycle with HRT dosing. I was holding off doing this for a bit because I was on a relatively low dose in general, and I didn’t want to worry my doctor about fluctuating levels before I finally got on a higher dose and once a week injections.
Now that I am on injections, I’m going to basically make sure I meet my overall dosages for a month, while tweaking them slightly week to week to mimic a cycle. Is this doctor recommended? I have no clue. Is this medical advice? Absolutely not! Does it intuitively make sense to me because of exactly what you’re talking about? Yes.
I’d love other people’s thoughts on this, and I’ll try to track down any resources on it and link them.
Secret 5th option: became a girl

Wasn’t a demand or anything. It’s just the only fedi alternative with a photoblog type interface that I know of. Let us know your username when you make one and I’ll follow you!

Swap to PixelFed maybe? It needs content

Hello fellow rambler!!
I’ve done a lot of experimenting, and have also moved away from short skirts for the time being. I do like my legs and low key like showing them off, but I’ve found the skirts that do that just don’t feel right, though I did like them last summer. The solution has been shorts! Specifically jorts. I have incredibly long legs, so finding pants that are long enough, and skirts just the right length is rare. Jorts have solved this two fold. I can now buy pants and not care about the length with the intention of cutting them. I also now have WAY more luck thrifting and avoiding buying new. Trying to find pants long enough for me in a thrift store is my white wale, but with jorts I’m just looking for waist/butt/thigh fit. This also gives me ideas of pants to keep and eye out for that I know fit in the waste and could extend with other cut up jeans.
I think in the end it’s a standards things. Like I think I kind of know what looks good, and shows off parts of my body I like. Something needs to fit just right for me to keep it. I have to accept that my body, in MANY ways, is not really accounted for in a lot of clothing, so new items need to be REALLY good or easily modified. Like I’ve held onto a few skirts I’ll modify eventually.
I hope you like the flow-y one! I have a wrap dress that goes to just above my ankle and I absolutely adore how I look in it! I’m also (freshly) 30 and always love chatting fashion and swapping brand recs and such. Hit me up sometime!

+1 for this

First I’m hearing of BasicSync. Thanks for mentioning it.

Maybe set up an SMB share or something? I’m generally happy with syncthing, but every now and then I do just want to dump files off device. For that I keep a share running over Tailscale (Headscale soon™) and use that in a pinch.

I’m sort of in flux again. I swapped from KeePass to Unix Pass, which is meant more for use in a terminal. Now due to the operating system I’m using I’m motivated to swap yet again, but I’m not sure I would suggest what I’m swapping to for folks that don’t have the same use case.
Generally I like KeePass as something more approachable than the more “power user” type tools, but more private than cloud based password managers like LastPass or 1Password.

Been very interested in NixOS on mobile. Would love more thoughts and some details about the process of getting it installed. What window manager are you using?

I’ve been loving Niri!! It feels like how my brain organizes my thoughts. Plus there’s some subtle things I love. Like user set window size is always respected when opening and resizing other windows or the built in screenshot tool.
I have also been recommended River multiple times and it also sounds very interesting so I’ll be checking that out at some point, but I think Niri will be my home for a while.

This is great info! Thanks so much for all the effort typing it out!!
I think I’ve always had them? Though I didn’t really process them until more recently. I really like them. I’ve thought about getting dermal stud piercings in them. Something like this
