I like to imagine we’d all be happier and better people if city infrastructure wasn’t designed around trying to get cars from A to B instead of people.

And risk upsetting Israel? That’ll get you arrested on a good day, missiles shot at you on a bad one.

As an agnostic/likely atheist, there’s a difference between religion and extremism. People can be religious without wanting to murder those who don’t believe the same things as they do, just like an atheist could still be a political extremist.

My Linux journey over the last ~18 hours:

I followed a YouTube video on how to install Linux Mint on a flash drive last night around 11pm and got it to post before going to bed. This morning I woke up at 9am, made coffee, then spun up my new OS, configured my system settings, played around with some extensions, then downloaded Steam and a few games and had at it with no fuss.

From what I remember about 2012, our greatest worry was the Mayan calendar ending and speculation that they had predicted the end of the world. What a simpler time.

I rewatched it (several times, actually…) recently after Andor S2 and was just a little underwhelmed after years of remembering it through rose-tinted lenses. That’s not to say it’s a bad movie. Just kinda mid or slightly above average, which puts it far ahead of the rest of the Disney-era Star Wars movies. But next to the quality of Andor there are definitely some things that stick out.

Some critiques I have are pacing, unearned character flip-flopping when convenient, and supporting characters whose own motivations don’t go far beyond supporting the main characters.

It still has a special place in my heart and this isn’t to say other SW media is without flaw. I think Rogue One is a fun movie but its greatness lies in how it sets up the Andor series rather than anything it does by itself.

I definitely think the best way to appreciate it is immediately following the Andor series, which itself is best after a Rogue One watch, at least the first time around. I.e. Rogue One -> Andor -> Rogue One

That one bite from the middle is going to be super satisfying.

Maybe it’s a vegetarian thing but I almost never have to worry about eating stuff that’s off. Unless there’s visible mold on it, so long as it passes the sniff test and sometimes taste test if I’m feeling a little suspicious I’ll eat anything that’s been in the fridge over a week without any noticeable consequences.

Do you really expect anything less from an anonymous public message board? It’s practically a Law of the Internet that invoking any version of the words “vegan” or “vegetarian” is bound to spark outrage from one side or the other.

As an American, please do. Some humility would do us good.

The bugs always attack first in my worlds and they never stop. They virtually force me to send them into extension as a matter of self preservation.

It’s disturbing how normalized speeding is. It goes beyond normalization. I’ve had people get furious with me, flip me off, tailgate me aggressively and literally try to run me off the road for driving the speed limit.

It’s especially stupid in the city. People get all pissed at me for driving the speed limit and maneuver recklessly around me before speeding off, only to get stuck at the red light a block ahead. I could feel smug as I pulled up beside them a moment later, that is if it weren’t for the disappointment and frustration I feel with how stupid people are behind the wheel of these speeding death machines.

I can’t think of any other law we have where a significant proportion of society seems to be actively hostile towards those who care to abide. Why do we accept this as a society?

Sometimes it’s best to just block the hater and move on. It’s not always easy to do, especially in the moment after they’ve gotten under your skin. But if it’s detrimental to your mental state to engage with them then they’re not worth your time and attention. You don’t need to prove anything to them.

Sounds to me like we need another room.

Zig zag/crinkle cut goes to the back and I think waffle deserves the #1 spot personally. I agree with the rest of the ordering otherwise.
