I’m in the same boat. Wanted to do Bitwarden but their sign up process is garbage. It never sends me the confirmation email. If love to set up a keypassxc server, but didn’t know about the frontend issues.

Maybe they block connections to that endpoint’s IP? Whatever the reason, I’m glad it worked.

I’ve got my VPN on and I can connect fine. Have any settings changed in your VPN client? Or can you try changing the endpoint you connect to?

Look for “digital signage”. It’s a screen designed to be used for, like, menus in fast food restaurants. But watch out, though, because the Samsung one I bought recently still had an Internet connection. I’ve simply chosen to not connect it, but it still pesters me about it.

The problem is “smart TVs with an Internet connection”. You can still buy non-connected TVs, but they’re hard to find.

I like to leave space between characters when I write. That way I can go back and fill the spaces with gibberish before covering the whole thing in gibberish.

If by “apps” you mean applications, no, not really. If by “apps” you mean pre-compiled binaries of applications downloaded from a central repository, yes.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but the days of separating KDE and Gnome software are gone. You can run whatever on pretty much any desktop. So if you find a Gnome-specific application that does what you need, just run it. The megabytes of dependencies it will bring in aren’t that big of a deal nowadays, considering we have terabyte-scale hard drives now.

Current situation notwithstanding, government work is generally pretty great. You don’t have to work for a three-letter intelligence org to do work in cyber security. I’m at a research lab that does nature shit, but cyber security is still important and we have a whole branch dedicated to just that. All I’m saying is don’t limit yourself.

Was going to say Yubikey also. I don’t like that it’s not open, but I’ve had open firmware keys before and they broke after several months of use. Meanwhile, my Yubikey has been kicking it on my keychain for almost fifteen years without any signs of wear, other than the paint scraping off of it.
