I don’t understand how. I remember learning about what one was from a fruit of the loom commercial. Then when my little sister saw that commercial she asked and I was excited to be able to explain it to her. Was it just this commercial?

It breaks my heart that it’s come to this. I used YouTube my whole life to learn. It’s like a living breathing encyclopedia for art, math, science and culture. More than 2 decades of pure human knowledge is on there. I’ve learned more than I could ever hope to learn from just using books and my library. Some things are best absorbed visually.

And now, I find myself thinking the same thing as you. I don’t want to leave these decades of knowledge behind. Some channels have been dead for years but what they taught is irreplaceable. It’s so incredibly unfair that such a collective effort of the world can be bought up by a giant corporation and exploited.

I guess the same goes with what AI did to decades of written knowledge. Decades of people creating content just trying to help others, and it’s being looked at with dollar signs.

So I have a small business where we print our down designs. We almost got one of these, but canceled. I can’t justify the price for what I can use it for. We were going to get it to print onto containers but printing onto vinyl and using a cutting machine would be cheaper than the UV ink and wouldn’t make a noticeable difference for our use. Also printing on to things one at a time is just going to be so slow. I hand paint onto the 3D prints using acrylics and then use a thin layer of UV resin to all an enamel like finish. Its pretty quick to line up a bunch of prints and hand stroke the colors on one at a time with a brush. Its also cheaper because that ink is still a whopping $300 a refill i think. For personal use, it might be warranted. It seems so cool and I really want one, but even with it being so affordable for what it is, I can’t justify the price.

I think hearth magic doesn’t work that way. When you live somewhere and set up a presence, it becomes your domain. A warrant doesn’t take that away from you. You need permission to travel safely into someone’s domain.
