I think I get the point you’re trying to make, but these are hardware factors that just can’t be redeemed with software.
If you have two completely different panels, you will always have a visible difference, the only real answer is to get matching monitors (and then calibrate them, on top).
If your screens are gonna look different anyway, why even bother? I don’t get the specific use case (which doesn’t mean there isn’t one).


I personally never got that point, because when you multi-screen, wouldn’t you specifically want two of the same model anyway because of color correction, fps and such? I know you can calibrate two different displays, but that will only get you so far and they’ll never look/feel the same.
I am sure there are use-cases for this, but how common is it that somebody needs this feature?
What’s much more common imo is connecting a laptop to two entirely different displays and mirroring the output and I had huge issues with Wayland in the past where it would just show half of the screen on either one, depending on resolution. Not sure if I did something wrong, but had to switch to X11 to make it work.

You may have been lucky, but the testing repository is really not meant for daily use.
Noone cares about packages there, so depending on what you have installed and when you update, you might have critical security vulnerabilities that have been patched for weeks on Stable or other incompatibilities/broken dependencies.
Unstable is not meant for daily use either, but at least you brainlessly get pushed the latest updates at all times. I have used it for a while, but it broke on me, too.
If you need newer software, just use Stable with backports or Flatpaks.

You may be able to disable the ME to some extent, although I believe the functionality that needs to be retained on newer versions is larger.
You will however still need the Intel FSP blob, which is a huge chunk of proprietary binary code. On anything below Skylake you still need at least an MRC blob.
I haven’t taken a dump on a T480 chip, yet, so you tell me what that’s like.
What I meant by grub was the init payload that gets loaded after BUP. Libreboot uses SeaBIOS first now, which is bad because anybody can start anything and you can’t set a password. This is before systemd or any OS.
My E3-1275v2 from 2012 is still perfectly usable for everything I do, alright.
IGP can even render 4k videos on a single display.
Not wanting to knock you, but Libreboot on a T480 is fake. There’s nothing “libre” about it.
Only until Ivy Bridge are you able to remove FSP, MRC and most of the Intel ME code.
They also don’t have grub-only builds anymore, so security went to shit.
Might aswell just build coreboot at that point.
There’s always an alterior motive with that company, you can count on it.
