yep, it took me a second to find the real setting but compressor can work in a pinch.

in vlc, right click>tools>effects and filters>compressor. adjust threshold to your liking, you don’t really need to mess with the other sliders.

edit: you can also go to preferences>audio>normalize volume to: (set what you like)

Rest assured, microslop will find a way to break it.

I like guake, or yakuake… they are inspired by the console in Quake. F9 drops it down and hides it. Works for what i need it to. I’m just a guy who recently ditched windows, not a power user.

The niche tech channels I tend to like the most seem to do one of two things, sometimes both. They go deep into history of obscure topics, or they use old tech in a novel way. If you can do either or both, I would probably subscribe.
