A lot of place around the world aren’t as large as the US either. It’s not as simple as ‘fuckcars’ would make you believe.

Depends where you live and how that area is designed. In much of the US unfortunately public transportation isn’t even an option or is an option that is so slow or so expensive it isn’t affordable. Vehicles may not be either, but that’s not how many people see it.
Speaking of opposite experience, absolutely. Even if you lock it down, high likelihood of getting stolen, especially if left overnight, and if it’s a ‘high value’ bike, especially an e-bike.
Meh, in so many places (in the US) you would need to flatten the entire city and start from the ground up to make no parking and instead here is public transportation that would work. That’s the unfortunate world we live in. Or because of how public transportation so often works, you spend the ‘poor’ tax of so much more time getting places. Oh need to get to work that is five miles away? it’s 1 hour each way by public transportation, or 20 minutes by car with traffic.
That seems pretty common for super popular shows. Like there are only so many seasons needed, and instead of keeping things tidy and ending the show, they extend with seasons that don’t fit and really ruin the overall show. Both Parks and Rec and Office did it.
DS9 was so good. No idea why it gets so much hate.
Xylitol isn’t found in cheese.
I’d trust AI before rando’s on the internet. But I would trust my vet or doctor more.
Many people do those same things for the attention and acceptance of others around them. I’d say more people do that when it comes to things like make up and dressing well. Human are social creatures and want to be accepted by others.
These days, you could spend 30+ minutes writing a thoughtful reply and deliberately avoid argumentative tone and words, only to be accused of using or being an AI.
Because unfortunately that’s how people are sourcing so much of their ‘facts’. And it’s even easier for them to simply copy and past the AI generated result rather than to learn and investigate.
But then again, even if say ‘you’ are wrong, or your mind has been changed, are you really going to go in and update your comment, or actually let the person know? Probably not.

LOL 30’s is not older woman. Girl get help. Like honestly. Everyone here is telling you that you aren’t normal and you are either lying to yourself or delusional (oh, it’s both).

Snoring doesn’t mean sleep apnea. And your bf just watching you sleep is 1. creepy and 2. not a diagnosis.

Nah, your tests aren’t normal. You likely have messed up things with too much caffeine, too much stress, and very likley are overweight and have sleep apnea.
Get a sleep study done, exercise more and work on healthy sleep habits and you probably will fix things. Very few people need to chug 2+ energy drinks a day to feel ‘tired’.

Isn’t that no different than the millions of open source projects that have few authors, little interest and are abandoned for the next shiny thing? At least in my mind with the current state of LLMs, if there is an open source project that you want to update for yourself, you should be able to do that pretty easily.

Exactly. Oh I have this small problem, or solution I want to solve. Great I can put something together quickly and move on with life. I am not selling it, and it’s not even needed for ‘open source’ because its often incredibly niche problems that I am trying to solve for, that I wouldn’t be able to do elsewise.

For me, it’s been super helpful to write personalized things quickly that I wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise. Are these things I plan on maintaining for decades? Hell no. But there is no current solution, this isn’t a commercial product, and I always have the code in case I want to make adjustments in the future.
So where is that going to be? If the rest of the world doesn’t run that way (which isn’t possible), what do you think happens then? When sea rise lifts things a couple of meters, billions are displaced. You aren’t simply going to put them somewhere else. Europe currently is struggling with climate and war migrants, the US is the same.
We still don’t have the ability to destroy the planet. We just will make it uninhabitable for the number of humans that are currently here, which has happened quite a lot in human history.
I mean the ability to survive it will be based on where you are located. And for the billions that are unable to survive it, they will either start wars with those who can, or will die in the process, or both.
Except this isn’t remotely true. For American’s you had the 62% home ownership in 1960’s for much smaller homes (on average 700 sqft) vs 65% now for an average of 2000sqft. The average American family in 1960 owned 1 vehicle, they now own 2. They went on less vacations, moms typically had to work on top of taking care of the family (little to no daycare), oh and interest rates were much higher as well (on top of that pesky women couldn’t even own a home by themselves). Single person living was roughly 10% vs 30% now, oh and those hard working dads often didn’t live by a year past retirement. And if you were a minority? You absolutely were f’ed.
Yes, costs are higher now relative to income, but demands also are. Want cheap, you move out to rural areas, but risk you don’t have work. The same problem that has been endemic in the US since it’s inception.
