  • My man if the current trend continues for a few more years we will start having water wars. Winter has no snow anymore and droughts are a thing that happens every summer. Also you think people are going to stay put and wait to die? There will be mass migrations on a scale we haven’t seen before.

Stuff is already pretty bad in some places, in the US the Colorado River Basin is in a water crisis already, Lake Mead is getting so low they can’t use it for power generation.

  • I actually did this. They gave out a game for free which I tried out and actually loved. The game has a pretty big mod scene so I just bought it on Steam because of the steam workshop. Installing and updating mods on the EGS version was such a pain in the ass. The steam version it’s literally a click and it updates automatically.

  • Apparently the original plan was for the machines to use the brains of humans for computing power, like a giant neural network. But movie execs thought that was too complicated for the average movie goer and they made them change it to the battery thing.

Using them for processing power made more sense but they could probably done it better by just maintaining the brains and not the entire body, or even just made neural networks and ditch the humans. Also I assumed the goop is just made from the dead humans. They also never explain how they make new humans, they clone them? Artificial insemination?

  • That would imply that bacteria have souls which means that I’m committing genocide each time I’m cleaning my toilet. I always assumed that you could only reincarnate into creatures complex enough to actually have sentience.

Edit: Also a fun fact is that if you count all human beings that have ever lived in the entire human history it would still not be close enough to the number of bacteria that live in or on a single human being (roughly 117 billion humans compared to around 20 to 30 trillion bacteria).
