One person I help is using eye-tracking software, so I guess he would have to turn it off every time I want to show something

Rustdesk is a remote control application, right?
Would it be possible for the other person to keep controlling the computer while i’m annotating, or would it require me to take control of their computer?

Forgot to mention: I’m mainly using Linux and the people I help are typically on mostly windows, but also macos and linux
Apparently slacks annotation feature never really worked on linux in the first place?

How did you experience the video on that wikipedia page? For me the face of the man had the exact same expression in all shots. But that might be my alexithymia.

I haven’t had any issues thus far. But I have not used a lot of appimages. Usually I can find everything in nixpkgs, and those that I didn’t all worked with appimages.

This command will just run an executable file on nix. Normally only executables which are installed from the package manager will work.

appimage-run is another option. Which can be used to run, you guessed it, appimages

Using a language server like nixd also helps a lot with auto completing packages and options in your config.

Apparently people are also working on the nickel configuration language to address some of the nix limitations and difficulties.

notify-send 'command finished!' works pretty well

I have a simple planck eotb, and carry it everywhere I go. It’s really convenient. I think I got used to typing on it in only a couple of weeks, but spend the past few years tweaking my custom ambidextrous layout.

Some of my personal favorites are:

• having backspace+ctrl combined on one key, enter+shift combined on another key.
• Having enter and backspace on both sides of the keyboard, so I can use either hand to use them
• Having a single hand numpad when holding a layer key. Very practical for number stuff.
• Putting any computer to sleep, or changing volume without having to look for the right key on my keyboard.

I put together an olkb planck 40% kit years ago, and it’s still my main keyboard for day to day use. (programming, gaming, writing, anything really) The main thing I like about it is that I can just put it in my backpack and carry it with me. It’s nice to take my laptop to a cafe or library and still have my good keyboard with me.
