I mean, I do it, but I also spend at least 2-4 hours outside a day without any input from my phone. It’s more like, “I’m watching an interesting video, but I also need to take a shower, no reason to not do both.”

Fairlife also has a history of animal abuse controversies. Their name is a complete lie and I always recommend people to other brands if they care about animal cruelty in the slightest.
Yea but that was known from the start. Android is an open platform right now. This is changing a fundamental feature of a device I already paid for.
It’s the smallest length that our current understanding of the universe will allow. Any distance smaller is immeasurable to us. To measure small things you need to be able to hit them with a photon and get a signal back; and the smaller you want to measure the higher energy that photon has to be. The planck length is the distance where the photon you are using to measure has so much energy comparable to the size that the energy density instantly creates a black hole, that swallows whatever you are trying to observe. Thus it is impossible for us to measure smaller than that distance. Things might absolutely exist at scales smaller than that, but the universe seems to lock them away from us.
I literally gave multiple reasons right after that. Did you just stop reading after those 2 words?
I see the point you’re trying to make but that is a false equivalence for a lot of reasons. One of the biggest being that Amazon is well known to treat their workforce like crap and profit at their expense. Valve does not do that. On top of that Amazon dominated the market by illegally keeping prices lower than everyone else using backroom deals, using the Amazon basics label to undercut competition (a lot of times by making deals with the factories making those products,) and buying up competition.
Valve on the other hand just made the best service and keeps releasing features that actually help consumers and developers. I’m not saying they’re like some angelic company that has done no wrong, but they certainly are nowhere near the levels of Amazon, Microsoft, Epic, etc.
If you look at combat between predator/prey it’s nearly always about who can attack while further away. Being able to throw rocks and pointy sticks was I think equally as important as being able to develop co-operative social groups.

Oh it’s absolutely purposeful. It’s been our MO for literally decades now. Not only for the erosion of privacy but also the promotion of even more conflict which generates tons of wealth for the defense industry.

Me and my friends use it to stream our gameplay or watch movies and stuff together. Nothing else I’ve seen really allows you to do that easily.
Do you not understand the concept of time?

I don’t see how that’s much of a hassle. Also a lot of the time I’ll just open up all lackscreen.com and leave that open if I am walking away only for a bit
I don’t think you could get OEM parts that would actually fit in that space tbh. Also the guaranteed software support from valve, and set spec list allowing devs to optimize for it are some pretty huge bonuses over other prebuilts. I’m not saying building your own comp is a bad idea, but for the average user who just wants to be able to game at medium settings in most games, this has some pretty major advantages.
Ah, maybe they could make some cool prebuilt with Linux already built in. Hmm and make it small enough to fit under a TV in a small shelf 🤔
Sorry but you can easily do that. The average person cannot. Most people would have to do multiple weeks of research into what different parts of a computer even are to have any hope of building a PC. Lemmy is one of the most out of touch places I’ve ever seen as far as tech literacy goes. The average person likely couldn’t even tell you what an operating system is, let alone know what Linux is.
Or just ask if they have nothing to hide why do they poop with the door closed? What could they be doing in there?
I love mine specifically for hueforge prints. If you do models that have very few color switches and they are all by layer it doesn’t really waste any extra filament than you would by swapping manually.
Oh Jesus Christ, that is one of the WORST USE CASES FOR AI! Therapists aren’t just encyclopedias about psychological and social issues, they go through a lot of training on how to teach people how to deal with their problems. AI does not have that training, and it’s not something that a text prediction machine can ever really learn. It can also do more damage than good, as in general they are trained to tell you what you WANT to hear not what you NEED to hear.
