Because I’m lazy and want to be able to watch my stuff from anywhere, and let my friends access my library easily across all their devices.
Setting up Jellyfin for remote access is not trivial. Maybe for a lot of self hosting people it’s fairly simple, but it’s not nearly as simple as just downloading and running the Plex server software.
I paid for a lifetime account when it was 250, and I felt like it was worth it. At 750 like it is now, I probably would actually have considered figuring out Jellyfin. As with everything, it’s a money/time analysis and it’s less of my time to host Plex.
I’ve gone through this with shows, and all I can say is that you tune out the studio laughter after a few episodes.

Is there any data on how many actual people still regularly use Twitter? I feel like you’re assuming that that’s where the users are, and maybe that’s still true, but I don’t know a single real life person who still actually uses it.

Aren’t phones literally designed to run and be on all the time nowadays? Huh?
Like, yeah, you’re using old hardware to run stuff and you presumably stopped using that phone for some reason, so it makes sense not to run vital services off your old phone, but for simple stuff like this it seems neat.

Analysis paralysis mostly.
Maybe contribute to the not-fucked-up parts of society. Help individuals. Do what you can for those around you. We’ve never lived in a time where humans are more aware of humanity’s worst actions than we do today, but humans have always been doing fucked up shit, along with really awesome shit, forever.
I fly several times a year and haven’t really noticed that? I usually sit towards the back anyways though.
How is that NOT a shit post? Are memes required to be high effort?

If you have a lot of DRM free games and want to have your own backup copies and be able to easily share them with your household, this does that. It isn’t for hosting games you buy through Steam or other DRM-protected platforms. It’s for giving you an interface to easily search and download your own library of games that you could get from a bunch of different sources, so you don’t have to go look up your credentials that you used to buy the game to re download it.
This is very much just plain mental illness, but if you want to use it to justify being annoyed at all Americans in general, more power to you I guess.
Didn’t Juliette grow up down in maintenance? It might have been long enough to develop a slight different accent…
Obviously the team that won had better people who were praying even harder.
I’d LOVE a resource like that! I’m sure it exists but I never found it, and it is a silly thing to be hung up on but I just didn’t properly understand the folder structure. I’ve still used Linux plenty but I’m dragging my feet on using it as a daily driver, but I’m VERY close to making the jump.

Calls and easily sharing my screen are 90% of my use cases for Discord. The entire appeal of it initially was that it was a more functional Ventrilo with both text and voice channels. Hopefully something FOSS gets further developed by the time Discord completely shits the bed.
Still driving my year 2000 car, will drive it into the ground.
