Corroborating the tweet… Giving it more credibility.
Aye, okay…
I’m not criticising. I’m trying to help, you dafty!
In the information age, and especially on a highly propagandised and emotionally charged topic like Israel/Palestine. None of us should be taking the face value of a screenshot without a source. I provided a source that backed up what your screenshot says. I chose The Guardian because it was the only news source I found without having to go onto X, because I have no interest in using that website if I can avoid it. Maybe in future you could source your screenshots so this waste of time doesn’t happen again.
No good deed goes unpunished I guess.
That’s unfortunately not how critical evaluation of information works.

An account belongs to a person and therefore has a reputation. In some people’s eyes this person holds a higher reputation than The Guardian.
You see the issue? And again, there’s no source to the tweet, it’s just a screenshot.

Here’s an alternative source, as you have an aversion towards The Guardian despite it backing you up in this case:
What Twitter account? It’s a screenshot, it has the credibility of this image without a source.

The article corroborates, not discredits, what your screenshot says. You didn’t provide a source and none of us should believe random screenshots without a source, so I provided one without having to go to Musk’s fascist bar. We’re on the same side here.
Because we should never believe what a random screenshot from social media says, here’s a news source to corroborate:

@OpenStars@discuss.online I think is also a potential alt
Lmfao. I didn’t make it more than a few paragraphs because it’s written with the maturity of a 10 year old in a chocolate sausage museum.
You can really tell they’re up for an honest and open conversation with the community, really trying to improve the Fediverse, with their locking of all comments.
He’s clearly the toxic one and is projecting his issues onto hundreds of others.
Not optional, and not made clear to anybody. Hence the backlash. You’re lying.
It is not fully optional. It was obfuscated and unremovable. That’s why the backlash has been so severe.
Not to mention, why should a user interface make that decision? That’s up to individual server admins and their userbase.

Lmfao. That’s the only time 9gag has ever managed to make me laugh!
It’s not cheaper or more efficient compared to large scale farming
This professor emeritus disagrees.
To begin with, it takes three acres of land for the industrial food system to feed the average American for a year, compared to maybe 5% of that area—or even much less—to feed a person for a year on a balanced diet of garden vegetables. So how is that three acres more efficient?

A suggestion:
Dual boot!
Call the Linux partition “Mom’s speed machine” and the old Windows 8.1 partition “Dad’s slow shitheap”.
Make the Linux partition as easy and intuitive to use as possible. Let the Windows partition rot.
I’m sure dad will come around pretty soon when he sees mom’s sleek setup and he gets a pang of jealousy.
Good luck!

To prevent them, like most things; eat a healthy balanced diet with lots of vegetables, and exercise.
But if that’s too much effort, drink some electrolytes.
This is why henchmen are often referred to as goons
It’s almost as if Lemmy isn’t a homogenous entity with a single viewpoint… Wow! Who would’ve thought?
