I work in government IT in Canada… that shit ain’t happening. I have been laughed out every time I’ve mentioned it for years.

My area already has two competitors, but they are dead in comparison. It would be amazing if they took off, but currently Marketplace is sort of the only real option.

Did you really never have a terrible prof?

I had a calc prof in uni that literally just read his slides in a monotone voice. I had already taken a calc course that I could have used at a college so didn’t even need the credit, but wanted to understand better. At the end of the course, my understanding was way down.

I’d say arguing that people are lazy for not using their textbooks and example questions is missing the mark entirely. The complaint is that profs do nothing… you can buy a textbook and practice questions for a lot less than $27,000.

My grandma died back in 2019, but before her death she was hard into every type of climate change denial. She was also a lifelong evangelical christian, and used to make it super awkward when I would hang out with a friend who was black. In the years before her death she would send me links to things proving that that historical climate statistics are lying, and climate change is just a hoax people are using to make money. She was also huge into bible codes, and huge into Israel.

Not really sure where I was going with that… but I have a suspicion organized religion is to blame.
