I only ever played Sims 1

Hmm, maybe I can try the ufw approach then. Wish I knew about that before I installed gnome. Thanks for the tip.

It can be done with wireguard but that doesn’t solve the killswitch issue. I’d have to write my own script or something.

What non-shitty options are there for gas? None. It’s not like I can refine my own, bub.
At least with vpns we ostensibly have options

Proton vpn is pretty good, except on Linux where the client is horrendous. The Killswitch is very unreliable there. When it fails, it sends your machine right back to the internet instead of blocking the connection completely like it’s supposed to.
I haven’t found an alternative that works well for me in Linux other than mullvad unfortunately. And I really don’t want to give them my money.
I sent proton a nastygram but they don’t seem to care about the Linux client at all.
Also both their gui and cli apps have dependencies on Gnome, and installing gnome fucked up my remote login setup. It’s insane to me that even the cli relies on gnomes keychain

They have our franchises but they aren’t that popular for the most part. The American section of the grocery stores I’ve been to over there is like 1 shelf that’s half full of candy and potato chips. And that section only exists in the larger stores.

Lemmy thinks the OP actually called HR on this dude

This isn’t punching down it’s just razzing someone’s questionable food choice.

They shouldn’t claim that an effing password manager is “secure” until after they’ve done an audit.
I’ll pass, thanks.

Fedora is an odd choice if you’re looking for stability. It’s a rolling distro. Some rolling distros are fairly stable but fedora updates constantly broke my shit.
Debian or opensuse leap are where it’s at for pure stability. Or any other LTS distro, really

Lol “my opinion is actually objective fact, gentlesir”
Nonsense, those of us who weren’t plugged into gaming journos 24/7 enjoyed it on release. I couldn’t have cared less that it didn’t have multiplayer or whatever. I wasn’t even aware of any controversy at the time.
There aren’t that many first person space exploration games outside of nms and elite and nms is much easier to get into. It was fun, and still is
And I don’t count starfield because starfield is just a loading screen simulator
It has millions of players who enjoy it.

As if the Java app won’t be even uglier than electron and still weigh in at 300 mb for each. Not to mention introducing security issues on your machine with the jre
There’s a reason people stopped making consumer apps in Java

Java apps are even worse than electron. Not to mention you need to install Java to run them.
Microsoft and IBM both donate to the Linux Foundation itself. They are both platinum members who regularly give them funds for all kinds of projects. This is really idiotic gotcha attempt.
