Just to say up front, this is not a defense of her behavior, but as I understand it, the seed of this development seems to lie mostly in sexual abuse she suffered, along with what may be an internal struggle with her own gender identity that is informed by that abuse. Her beliefs are existential, as in focused on the continued existence and safety of her and other women. So when she recieves pushback, even light or friendly, the only response she can accept to give is digging in further and further, escalating more and more. At this point I don’t even think she needs an “opponent”. She’s stuck in fight-mode with no way out.

Same thought. I had to look him up and now I’m baffled how the writer of Monsters Inc, Inside Out, and Up could be this callous. It has been over a decade, so maybe he lost that piece of himself over time to “The Industry”.

It’s not. It’s still really bad, but it’s not “burning people alive” bad. As for the Palestinians, there are much more contemporary and horrific comparisons to make.

You might know this already, but some (all?) flatpaks are denied access to most drives in the system. I’ve used Flatseal to address that issue when it comes up, though there may be better ways.

From what I can make out, that and the recommended argument (–break-match-filters) rely on a filters list, which doesn’t seem to have a date option of their own. For now I’ve just added the problematic videos to my archive file, so they won’t slow it down anymore, but it feels like it should be possible to halt the script like that. Maybe it’s too niche of an edge case.

Not sure if you’ve blocked them or their home instance, but the community is definitely still getting posts, mostly by one user.

It’s become his “birth certificate”, not in that it isn’t real or a problem, but that it’s all an increasing number of people focus on, ignoring more immediate and dangerous actions in favor of it. And even if it does come out, the actual damage done will just be a massive disappointment to all those hanging their hopes on it.
