Ah I was using an example, the device I have from my TV provider doesn’t do hdr10+

I can’t watch live sport without the device so effectively I use that for live TV stuff and the TV itself for app based stuff (netflix, Disney, apple etc etc)

The difficulty I have with my Samsung TV’ is that the content from netflix looks much better on the netflix app on the TV than say using netflix on a fire stick or anything else

I think it comes down to the hdr10+ stuff, but it is noticeably different

I do despise how annoying Wayland screen sharing on Ubuntu is though. Using slack on xorg for screen sharing is so much easier 🤣

This doesn’t hold true anymore though, Wayland does work on Nvidia

It’s been fairly good for me on bazzite with my Nvidia card. I have to set some launch options in Steam from time to time to make HDR work but otherwise I’m happy (I had Nvidia issues on a different machine using Ubuntu but switched to different drivers and things improved)

Planet crafter, steer clear of that game. That’s some addictive shit, I 100%'ed that game before I even knew what I was doing. Really hit the subnautica style base building, alongside a progression system that frankly didn’t take the piss with my time

I’ve been running bazzite as my main gaming OS for about a month now, actually pretty decent. Recent updates have made my Nvidia graphics card “just work” with a few launch options in Steam to support HDR and I’m very happy. I still use windows 11 to play the odd game of battlefield so I have a custom theme for grub which makes things feel fun, even if I only see it for 5 seconds 🤣

I use Ubuntu in work daily because I HATE WSL when it comes to dealing with network bs, and thankfully my business is happy with Linux on the user side (most companies are windows or Mac shops)

That setting is no joke, I was pissed I didn’t enable it sooner

My machine went from 45+ seconds to 13 for boot

Plus the economy of efficiencies, steam will fix issues that cause frustration on their known setup of hardware as it is known parts and a larger audience

Building your own pc is great, but the variation in performance makes for a mixed bag of experience playing the same game on different setups (different GPU, drivers etc etc)

Honestly, no idea, worth checking their GitHub etc or their status pages if they have any
