This is dependent on how you order. If your buying from overseas and importing you have to pay tarrifs (most of the time, some sellers offer to sort that for you and reflect it in pricing). I have ordered many a part from the UK, India, Australia and japan. All out of country sellers required I deal with customs, except for the stuff from Australia that states they would cover the exporting for me! But yes if you bought from a us based retailer, the retailer imported and already paid the tarrifs for you.

My PC does not have WiFi, only Ethernet. If I unplug the Ethernet it’s totally offline. No AI, no amount of coding till your blue in the face can miraculously make the software do something that it doesn’t have the hardware for. I felt the same way when I was young, was so happy to run a later routine as I got older. Then I got to the point where my job required an earlier attendance, and now I go early voluntarily because I’d rather be up at 5am and be home before dark while still making OT than be in later and get home too late to enjoy my evening! Maybe my bio clocks changing, but it took me about 2 years to get my schedule shifted over comfortably to the point that this is my new norm. For my first couple years working 8am I was miserable. Idk maybe getting older has made me more flexible in that regard!

That’s awesome good for you! I’m in the USA, I had a full tuition scholarship but still had to pirate/ buy textbooks, and as a commuter had to keep up with my car and feed myself. Wasn’t terribly fun doing college + 25 hours a week of work and still being broke and never having free time but I got it done without burying myself in hundreds of thousands of debt like some of my friends that just took loans out for education.

All it takes is routine, I’m already half an hour into my work day before the time you state no human is ready by. When I was younger and delivered pizzas till 11pm, 730 am felt early. Now if I wake up at 10am I feel like I pissed half my day away, and I have a tough time sleeping past 7 on weekends unless I have been up all night. Time is nothing but a concept and how late or early u do things bears no significance once you make it routine!

Yea our grid actually cannot yet handle having every vehicle be an EV. But it also cannot handle data centers either. There’s a great video on this for anybody interested that also has some commentary on the effect on green house gasses, backed by nothing but statistical information. I’m not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic. If we want more electric vehicles on the road, we need to keep building renewable sources of electricity everywhere we can. Most EVs consume far more power than a household does every year! We already built all the infrastructure for ICE cars decades ago, it’s only logical some infrastructure needs to be built to support EVs! It’s not a bad thing, it’s just the way forward.

Right but how exactly did AI make that happen? The execs are always trying to shitcan workers as they are the most valuable but also most expensive assets of any company. But you gave me 2 examples of NOT ai making you loose your job and have yet to explain how AI has screwed you. I understand it helps to be mad at something, just haven’t heard how you lost ur job due to AI specifically. The job market and economy as a whole is in the shitter right now and I don’t think it’s AI’s fault, in fact the investment in AI is the only think that’s making our economy LOOK less shit than it is, granted it’s incredibly inflated and bound to collapse at any moment.

So I don’t mean to be rude, and I am sorry to hear about your struggles in the job market, but how exactly did you loose ur job to ai? In ur second paragraph you even said it was politics that collapsed the company. In third you said lack of funding. I feel like a lot of this is because the economy is shit as a whole, how exactly has AI taken your job? Any competent senior full stack surely couldn’t be replaced by co pilot? Not that I’m educated on the topic.

Yea hot take here but if u “lost ur job” to ai it wasn’t much of a job to begin with, it’s used as an excuse to downsize sure but it’s not replacing any real valuable positions.
