Yeah, I completely forgot that during the install Debian gave me multiple choice for the DE. I think I am using GNOME. I don’t remember if I chose it on purpose or it was the default choice and I just rolled with it.

Yes, I thought it might be a code issue. It just seemed weird that with other Debian based distros (ubuntu and mint) I have never had this issue. I hope this weekend I get enough free time to investigate further. Thank you for the tip.

Yeah, I know, but as I said I kind of like it and I think I can get used to it. It’s not necessarily something wrong with Debian, it’s just that I have been a long time windows user, and then used mint also for a long time, so this is just a habit.

I switched from Mint to Debian recently and it’s been great so far. I’m still getting used to the idea of no “panel” (tasks bar), but I think I will keep it that way since it looks cleaner. I find it really easy to navigate with just keyboard shortcuts. It does really feel universal.

Only issue that keeps bugging me is that for some reason the sound quality on any Bluetooth device is trash. €100 headset sounds like a €10 one. An issue I didn’t have with Mint, Ubuntu or Windows. I haven’t had time to investigate it yet though, maybe something is missing in the default installation and is just a matter of installing the right package.

Many people here say that people don’t want to be targeted by cops but I don’t feel like cops target colored cars specifically. At least where I live I feel like they target stereotypical vehicles, which would mean a combination of brand and model, color, tinted windows, any visible modding etc., and also the body style of the car. For example a gray roadster will have a higher chance to be targeted by the police than a yellow minivan. A modded car will always be stopped more than average.

So the way to not get targeted is to get a car that screams “mother/father of two in an unhappy marriage”. Or go to the other extream and get whatever the mafia drives if you have the money. I have never seen a G-class Mercedes stopped by the police.

And for me right now that show is Farscape. I don’t know if you can call it niche, but it certainly is not very well known where I live. And this show is frelling good. I love it! I love the story, I love the actors, I love all the costumes and puppets, the sets, the effects. It is better than most of the dren studios nowadays produce

That is why I have:

• a few emails for registering wherever I should be able to do stuff without an account, but for some reason can’t. One of them is a gmail for every place that allows to log in with google.
• one email that I use for account, where I actually may give a shit about the the emails I may recieve from the services I registered/subscribed for.
• one email used exclusively for e-mailing. No accounts, no subscriptions.
