The funny thing about this comment is that, having read the other comments, I know that you’re extrapolating ridiculous things about a field of study that helps enable modern life from a simple game. Vanilla is my favorite smell. Back in college when my buddy went to Mexico and brought back cup souvenirs for friends, he didn’t get one for me. Instead he gave me a big bottle of fancy vanilla. I kept that thing at my computer desk and every so often for the next couple years I’d pop it open and take a big rip of the smell just to feel a little more alive. It was so great.

2-3 years ago when I tried Fedora (I think shortly before Fedora 41 released)? Yeah, after a few hours of figuring out how to get them installed I had serious screen artifact issues still, and ultimately ended up back on Windows.

Trying Bazzite a couple months ago with the drivers preinstalled and functional out of the box? No problems since then, games just work (except Crimson Desert for a month, but I didn’t actually care to play it so that was fine), and I can actually focus on learning Linux without stressing over whether I can play my games.

My understanding is that one of the upsides to Bazzite is that Nvidia drivers are pretty easy to install and manage. That was the thing that turned me off of Fedora when I tried making the switch to that a couple years ago.

Is that easy to do in Kinoite? This is the first I’ve heard of it, and it sounds like exactly what I would want out of Bazzite.

Let no compliment go unsaid! This summer I was at a music festival, chilling in the “tickle parlor” of the “dream emporium” when a guy sat next to me. I started a conversation and he said he was working on a quest, and currently had to learn to compliment from the folks in the parlor. I said lets do it, we complimented a couple people, then I went up to one of the workers and asked for advice. She said “you could start with me,” which I thought I was doing. I basically repeated the question, she repeated her answer, and it was then that things clicked for me. I told her her hair looked nice because it was clear a lot of work had been put into the intricate French bob on her head, to which she smiled and thanked me. I started looking for things to compliment, and next thing I knew I was neck deep in bracelets and bead art from people who appreciated my compliments, and the guy I had helped was rollerskating away into the sunset, never to be seen again, but always remembered. I’ve been working on seeking out nice things to say since then, and it almost always turns out well.

Just last weekend at the Renfest I was stuck in line for 5-10 minutes and ended up having a nice talk with the gal in front of me because I said the floral design on her shirt looked good.
