The transition in Nazi Germany from shooting to gassing happened partly because of the effect it has on the psyche of the perpetrators.

“The historian Christian Ingrao notes an attempt was made to make the shootings a collective act without individual responsibility. Framing the shootings in this way was not psychologically sufficient for every perpetrator to feel absolved of guilt.”
This isn’t the best evidence, but it shouldn’t be too hard to find, if wants to look more deeply into it.

Oh god, quesadillas for breakfast one day, baked beans the next, and ful another. Three different types of bread, and like at least four different types of beans. 😍

There’s also some interesting psychology involved. Been a while since I watched it, but for anyone interested, PBS: about some research at Berkeley uni Why Those Who Feel They Have More Give Less.

The way I understand it, it’s specifically not to gain more speed, but completely focused on aesthetics. Themes, background, and other touches to make it look pretty, and perhaps some UX aspects too.
