  • Magnesiu-based lifeform

    Problem

It is generally understood that human beings are carbon-based organisms, fusing little carbon tubes together to form complex, mushy structures capable of thought, love, and locomotion. It is also known that these structures sometimes like to “take the edge off” by consuming ethanol, amphetamine, etc. In such cases, it is important to supplement your body with magnesium. Tired? Mag it! Down? Mag time! Liver damage? MAXIMUM MAG! Some people say magnesium doesn’t really do anything and you just need to quit. What do we tell them?

    Solution

We tell them: HELL NO. You’re about to become a magnesium-based lifeform. The age of the primitive carbon-man is done. No longer must mankind rely on slow-working background radiation to take us further into our genetic destiny. This is the era of guided evolution, and magnesium is the key. You are the first of your species. The next step in human evolution. An advanced magnesium proto-man who mags it up, drinks it down, and sniffs it sideways!

  • One is not incompatible with the other.

We can have equal rights, even as many rights as possible (as equal rights could include no one having any rights) and not be allowed to harm or endanger each other, or by extension the environment.

This alone takes care of practically everyone who shouldn’t be allowed to drive, without giving them any less rights.

More importantly, though, the fact that you’re experiencing road rage and thus driving while impaired by it means that you shouldn’t be allowed to drive, because you’re evidently a threat to everyone else on or about the road.

  • Hey now, I’m doing what I can. I ported the thing from .NET Framework to .NET 6 (now mostly 10), and recently from Entity Framework 6 to Entity Framework Core (which was quite more of a hassle) without any documentation or assistance and it’s running less worse than ever, and I’m planning some upgrades that should make it almost useable!

I’m still planning to rewrite it from scratch on my own time these holidays because it should be less work than maintaining the damn thing, of course, but still.

  • Plotting a route to the peak of mount stupid, I suppose.

I’ve needed to change my computer within the next six months for the last five years, and the plan is to try out NixOS, because as a programmer it looks like a reasonable kind of OS, despite all the warnings to the contrary (shame it’s Linux and not BSD, though… the more I learn about Linux and BSD, the more reasonable BSD looks).

I haven’t significantly used Linux since I was studying over two decades ago, and I’m pretty certain the last time I set up a Linux system it was Slackware.

My plan is to read the allegedly insufficient documentation and try to figure it out from there. 🤷‍♂️

Wish me luck, I’ll certainly need it.
