NOT SUPPORTING GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

I suggest you read up on evidence before calling someone stupid for being cautious. There are studies that prove that open source developers were measured 20% slower when coding with LLMs even though they felt 1.5-2x faster. And we are talking about security sensitive software used by millions of people not ‘small specialized scoped tasks’ like you are in your comment. By the way, there is a huge environmental impact that is being caused by AI bros / big corpos pushing this endless slop onto us. There are protests going on because datacenters are literally poisoning the drinking water, pushing the electricity costs onto the community rather than supplying their own stuff, while adding a handful of jobs to the local economy. Educate yourself, the condescending comment doesnt help any one when the facts arent on your side.

Great, it’s cotton also, ordered.
Linus sent an email recently to the Kernel Mailing List trashing AI slop and rejecting AI generated patches. The fact that he used it to play around with a script doesn’t invalidate the fact that he distrusts code written by LLMs when it actually matters.
Any AI usage immediately discredits the software for me, because it calls into question all of their past and future work.
My dishwasher has an AI assistant now. I wish I were joking.

Thanks, I’m saving that.
The problem with Mastodon (ActivityPub) is that your identity is held hostage by your server admin. If your instance goes down or you have a disagreement with the mod, good luck moving. You can migrate followers, but you lose all your posts and history.
ATProto fixes this by decoupling your identity from the server, you can swap servers without losing anything.
Also, Bluesky has truly customizable algorithms instead of being forced into the chronological view or whatever the instance admin decided.
Sometimes I need to install obscure software that needs to be packaged manually. But in most cases I just use a VM for those
It’s an automatic downvote for not including NixOS, despite having other niche distributions on the list (what even is the one at C tier?). Also, Windows? That is not even closely related to the Unix family of operating systems, let alone a Linux distribution.
It’s sad that something as simple as installing a third-party app has become challenging in modern computing.
Or NixOS. I just opt for a VM these days.
Pro tip, just do:
alias ls=“ls -lah”
This is the current state of our country

Am I the only one who noticed the 6-7 reference? 👀
Clever
I actually like the search overviews, they yap a lot less than Google and usually give the correct answer within the first sentence

Here’s a word of advice: do not use that sack of shit company for anything. Always use decentralized alternatives wherever possible

Instead of utilization, say: use Instead of utilizing, say: using
123 + 456 = 123456 Or translated to decimal 3 + 3 = 6
