Huh… I’m not really sure. I know I was able to a while back, but now I don’t see how.
Maybe it requires login now. I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a way to reduce AI traffic or something.
I’ve never really followed X (nor Twitter), Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, etc. so I basically live under a rock. Sometimes I ask dumb questions to try to understand people a little better. Apologies if my questions inadvertently offend anyone. I mean no harm.

You might be interested in Tangled. Not sure if they’re stable yet though

That sounds like a lot. Is it more than a bajillion, or less?
gov shenanigans
Was the “Cash for Clunkers” thing one of them? When that happened, I remembered wondering how it might affect the used car market later… But then I forgot to check until just now 🙈
Woahhhh chill with the hard “O” before it hurts someone. It’s “G*d”
Oh my god, I can’t believe I did that! Thank you so much
Thank god for that asterisk. If there were a vowel there, I would have been absolutely triggered and literally shaking.
He said that on Lemmy, an open source platform, hosted mostly (I assume) on Linux servers? Brilliant

Yep, CAD and house building are still human jobs, for now.

…this assumes that no one will ever connect LLMs to machinery, or generate code to run machinery (gcode, for example)?

Anyone know if this affects GrapheneOS users? I can install GrapheneOS like 50x faster than it would take to understand what I’m legally binding myself to by signing the petition.

I genuinely appreciate the cause, but to sign this, I have to provide PII, agree to their terms of service and privacy policy, and get automatically opted-in to their mailing list that I’ll have to unsubscribe from later.
So to petition against this shitty tech stuff, I have to go through this other shitty tech stuff. It sucks how normalized this all has become.
I think I might officially be old now. I don’t know what the bottom left two are and I have no desire to google them.
🤔 is it considered piracy if you’re downloading a copy of something you already own?

I used a mini PC (from Minisforum) for my home server for a while. It worked great— until it didn’t. It just suddenly shut off forever without any warning signs or anything. No signs of life. I confirmed that the power supply and memory were fine. The only option is to find a replacement motherboard (and CPU/GPU since it’s an APU soldered onto the motherboard).
I ended up just building a PC to replace it. I don’t recommend a mini PC for this purpose.

I’ve been pretty happy with Peergos
Happy cake day 🙂
There was a surprising number of repos there when I last looked, and their blog seems to show signs of life, so I don’t think it’s vaporware (at least not yet). But yeah, not easily being able to browse repos from the home page definitely sucks.
FWIW, you can see some recent activity scroll by from right to left on the front page, near the top, right below the hero section. You can click them to view some users and repos (example: https://tangled.org/mitchellh.com).
That’s the only way I see from the front page though, which is not great :/
