This is how we end up with R5-10, which will soon be another sign that specifies e-bikes (and perhaps we need multiple discrete signs). We had a no phone use sign, then we needed no texting (or no mobile). The signage just hasn’t caught up.

But it gets even weirder when you’re talking about not even a roadway - so then signage changes between jurisdictions.

I tend to err on the side of caution, but dollars to donuts there’s enough ambiguity in that signage you’re thinking about where you can’t really be ticketed because you can win the argument in court. What results is lack of enforcement (which is another legal defense in and of itself).

there is no “most” in american signs for common/universal things like skateboarding, swimming, smoking, etc. For almost every every “No” sign that exists, there exists a counterpart “slash” sign. Add to that not every “no” sign is a roadway sign (eg no smoking)

There is a legal difference between Parking, Standing, and Idling a vehicle. Not every jusrisdiction has distinct bans for each, so there isn’t a universal way to represent each. You also need qualifiers - any time, or certain hours, or either side of the street, so you get those signs with words.

You can’t really do a picto for “No commercial vehicles”. I suppose we could do a picto for No Thru Traffic. I could also see that you can do “No Pedestrians Bicycles Motor-driven Cycles” with 3 pictograms (IMO more than like 3 words on a road sign is just a bad idea)

I admin various Linux Servers, been through most distros at work and at home. I’m an experienced Linux admin/user. I’m settled on Mint at home for the foreseeable future.

After a long day/week/career doing IT, the last thing I want is for my primary PC to be a project-home. Mint Cinnamon ended up being the home I fell in love with - honestly was expecting it to be another kitchy distro that I would maybe reccommend for noobs (I mean it is also that). I couldn’t be happier - LMDE is the only thing that makes me wonder about greener grass.

I haven’t gotten to 95% perfect since Ubuntu pre-unity, and that one very long Arch build I did that one time. Even Debian, the home I grew up in, wasn’t the home I wanted to live in forever.

No shade on any other Distros/DEs out there. Everyone has different homes and it’s their home and I love that people have them and that they’re all different, and I want many options to keep existing. Past me would not understand present me’s choices.

That’s just map data. Your travel/location data is still stored acvount-side unless you disable history in acct settings.

Edit: 2 settings, “Timeline” and “Maps History”.

Timeline is a “feature” that tracks where you’ve been.

We turn things UP to increase and DOWN to decrease. I’m not going to die on this hill but I will do everything I can behind the scenes to erode and undermine the hill of the enemy. Up to and including using my multi tool to flip your switches upside down. For the realm.

not OP but personally I watch maybe 2h of YT /month. Because I only watch one dude who posts about monthly, then the rest is just random links I’m clicking from a post or something. I donate to the guy periodically. The other links half of them are news clips or something that I could prob just get from their site.

The one-size model just doesn’t fit my use case. I’d pay for a per-time-watched plan if it was reasonably priced but it doesn’t even exist.

Work profile is basically a second set of apps with a little briefcase badge that coexist next to your other apps. You/work chooses which apps are installed. They can’t access the data in your actual profile and vice versa. You don’t log out and in, it’s just 2 containers spaces.

Private space is basically another such container, meant to be a 2nd personal one, but the apps aren’t seen next to the others … Theyre inert and hidden until you unlock the private space (pin/print/etc)

I think Android 15 is needed or thereabouts.
