Fun fact: there were actually times where railroads created train crashes as public attractions. One of the most well known is the Crush collision.

yt-dlp has an option to list everything it downloads in an archive file (so that when a video is downloaded once it isn’t downloaded again), and also has an option to download playlists. That way, it should be possible to set up the command to do what you want.

Technically, VBA arrays start wherever you want them to and end wherever you want them to. Thing is, since VBA is usually interfacing with MS Office, you’re heavily dependent on what the office APIs do. And unfortunately, they very often start counting with 1. So practically, you’re generally starting your counting with 1.

Unless you’re programming in VBA. But at that point you’re already fucked anyway.

How about this: it’s awful in both places. Just because another country started doing it as well doesn’t excuse anything, it means they’re now both doing something unacceptable.

Take anything the lead dev of GrapheneOS says with a grain of salt. He’s a little… Um, special.

Yes and no. I think the point is the intent here. If this had been introduced at a time where these laws were not being passed, no one would have bagged an eye - because in all likelihood the goal was different. Now that these laws are coming, suddenly the birthday/age field is being added left and right, which makes you wonder: why? There doesn’t seem to be any other logical reason.
Think of it like this: there’s a central road in the city. On just about any given day you can walk along that road and nobody will bat an eye. But if you walk along that road on the day that there’s some questionable protest, you may be walking the way you would normally walk, but you’re still walking alongside that questionable protest. So people will rightly ask themselves: “why is he walking along there like that now?”

Said it in another thread, I have yet to meet a strong advocate for LLMs that isn’t a cunt.
I know someone who is very convinced of LLMs, and while I have strong disagreements with her in that topic, she definitely isn’t a cunt.

Yes, but that’s always the case when you’re switching architectures. The x86 binaries won’t work on ARM, either.

IIRC Debian supports RISC V

I understand that perfectly well. It unfortunately doesn’t change the fact that he is distorting the facts.

I fully get that point, and it would be pretty neat if we managed to pull that through from a legislative standpoint. I just wish he would stick to the facts more. Essentially making the argument you make in your last sentence.

I watched the first 10-15 minutes of this and have to say, while I agree with him on principle, he’s either misinformed or exaggerating the anti-circumvention regulation. There are a number of exemptions in anti-circumvention laws in the US for personal use. How far this goes was made clear in court, Apple took the creators of an iOS jailbreak to court and lost, making it clear that jailbreaking is not illegal, even though it clearly circumvents the “protection” system in place. Similar applies to circumventing DRM for backup copies of media, for instance.
Of course, I would rather see no anti-circumvention legislation whatsoever, but the way he misportrays the situation makes me question his credibility.

Mind you, the registry is also just a couple of files that are shown to the user as “the registry”. IIRC, on Windows, go into the user account’s root folder, and you’ll have NTUSER.dat. That’s the HKCU hive for that user.
Debian has some instructions here, maybe it can be used for other platforms as well.
People moving into an expensive apartment on a nightlife strip and complaining about the fucking noise.

Sync is not backup
Thank you. Now can you please explain this to my IT department that thinks force syncing everything on our computers to OneDrive is a solution to our lack of backups?
I don’t get it. What is this referring to?
