at this point, most of us were born into it.

by the time we were born, it was so entrenched nothing but horrible bloodshed could change it.

we’ve been inundated with news and media since early childhood not to rise up for that change and many of us have (until recently) been left comfortable enough that we don’t want to risk what remains.

we’ve been made to believe (by the aforementioned propaganda) that we can vote in real change. some of us still want this to be true. it’s becoming apparent this may not be the case. we’re terrified.

100%. It’s stupidly simple. They’re cheaper to build, use less floor space so cheaper corporate rent, and BONUS gives management a direct view of you so they can helicopter micromanage your every waking minute.

i also work in IT and agree wholeheartedly. it’s tiresome to see the rampant denial that building and maintaining a PC is a lot of work.

from my wife - we sit in front of a computer all damn day. we don’t want to sit in front of a computer all damn night too. we want to sit down in front of our TV and play games together in the evening. we just want it to work. we’ve built PCs and we have no interest in cobbling something together and supporting it for it’s lifetime. don’t act like that doesn’t come with a huge cost of time.

i think i must be their target audience because i’m excited as hell for the steam machine. i have no desire to build my own, i just want to play my steam games on my big tv. that’s it. they’re making that easy.
