Just dropping a formatted link: !endeavouros@lemmy.zip And I’ll see ya’ll there. :)
EDIT: Also, would it be possible to get a bot to post the official EndeavourOS news? I mean, we all already read the RSS, but just in case someone doesn’t. ;)
That’s a great idea. I’m new here so not 100% on how to spin up a bot; but will look into it
Hey, we have a mod tools page where you can manage your communities including setting up RSS feeds! https://modtools.lemmy.zip/
Give me a message if you need a hand using it :)
Oh most perfect! <chefs kiss> ty Rick !
I understand that the community is just a few days old, but there’s gotta be enough EndeavorOS content outside of the existing one post.
You have to start somewhere…feel free to start a thread
still use the arch wiki. I’m on nixos btw
I don’t use Arch, BTW.
Where did this stereotype actually come from? I’m genuinely curious. Because Windows users wouldn’t know Arch from Ubuntu and to them, all Linux users are “I use Linux btw” types. And I don’t think I’ve seen Arch users just randomly telling people they use Arch in Linux spaces. But it must’ve come from somewhere.
IDK if it’s a thing elsewhere but it’s been a running joke on Reddit and Lemmy for years mostly because Arch was the more popular, bare bones distro, i.e. you had to set it up yourself without a guided installer like Mint or Ubuntu, so was used as a signal to be like “I know what I’m talking about”.
I know this one: It came from the Arch users. No, really, they couldn’t just help to not tell anyone. It’s not just a stereotype, it was really that common.
Now why they couldn’t help, is guessing, but I guess it is the first distribution, that people take pride in to install, after they tried Ubuntu.
Arch was the “elite” distro. Most people who weren’t already very comfortable with the terminal were even able to use arch properly. Stuff like archinstall didn’t exist back then and those that did were way inferior than what we have today. So using arch was like a “badge of honor” of sorts for many people who thought using it made them superior to disgusting ubuntu or mint users with their GUI installer.
It’s just classic gatekeeping that you’ll see in basically everything that comes with a passionate community.
I’ll be honest, all of the Arch memes I’ve been seeing lately feel like reposts from 5-10 years ago
So true. I use arch btw. And now I have a nice hand of cards ;)
I use Linux btw.
I don’t really promote nixos unless it’s for comedic purposes
I use Gentoo. I very much warn you against using Gentoo.
Meanwhile in Debianland…
I use the red swirl too btw
Just do it ironically and talk about what an old geezer you are
Selection bias left the chat and apparently ceased to exist as a result.
What kind of a card game is UNO and why is drawing 25 bad?
You have to get rid of the cards
Thanks!
Winning the game is accomplished by playing all your cards and being the first to run out of cards. You play a card by putting one down that matches the last card played by either color or number. There’s other special cards too, like draw x cards, reverse direction, wild cards, etc.
Ah, so in this situation, you are asked to draw 25 new cards, virtually making you lose. 🤣
