Thanks that’s definitely the word. Just had bankcards in my head for some reason, and time was of the essence.

Yeah, I kinda fell off around then as well. I started watching sometime around the end of season 2 airing, and I remember how fun and exciting it was. I’m not sure the show was meant to go on as long as it did. I think that’s a big problem with things getting popular too, is this desire to keep things going past their expiration date.
Credit where it’s due, Netflix does the limited series thing and I like that. Let’s state from the beginning: this is it. Now, Netflix also just cancels shows it shouldn’t, and that’s massively disappointing, so debit where it’s due too (that’s an opposite of credit but obviously not the right one but I can’t think of the word and I gotta wrap this thing up).
Yeah, anytime I was fortunate enough to get into something before the wave, it was awesome, and then popularity murdered it. It’s just the way she goes. So now I consume whatever it is I’m interested in and just avoid it in the public realm, and it’s fine.
Yeah, old reddit wasn’t so politically charged, but that’s probably more a product of the times. There are some niche areas here where I can escape those discussions, and discussions that devolve into Linux circlejerks, though, and I like that.
Yeah, and the problem is the Internet isn’t even a real exposure, it sucks. I don’t know that there’s a replacement for just living around people, seeing them in stores, in your community, and just existing around them. Even the boogeyman seems less scary when you see it going about it’s day to day life. It’s hard to realize people are humans on the internet, especially because it is never a display of your mundanity, but if your quirks and the things that make you interesting.
That’s why Lemmy is great, because this place is mundane af.
Colleagues, of course, with Professor Professorson.
What about when component rolled around. Totally fucked with my young mind, red blue green instead of red white yellow. And my old man had the nice cables too, which made it really feel like I was fucking some shit up.
I just wanna give a shout-out to the Blab, who has been illegally broadcasting Mets and Rangers games (and other stuff, including jeopardy and Seinfeld) for more than a decade now. I gave you like .01btc in 2017 or 2018, and that’s definitely a lot more now than it was then, but you deserve it.
Some people like to vent though too. I’ve been told, hey, I’m not looking for answers, just an ear. I always try to offer some help or advice, but I realized that isn’t necessarily what the other person wants, it’s what I want. So I try to listen, try to say more than just “That sucks,” and if I get asked for help, I’ll see what I can do.
But sometimes, it’s just “That sucks,” and that’s usually because you made your bed and now you need to lay in it, but that’s kinda mean to say to someone who’s already not feeling so great.
Spinning shit is just really good at doing stuff.
Yeah, I’m from Jersey. And Cumberland Farms, I remember having one by us when I was a kid, but they all went away.

My milk has the name for the store I buy it at. I think that’s probably what they’re referring to, just store brand milk versus, apparently, MilkaCola. CocaMilka.
Uhh, Firefox. I’ll copy the image and paste it to signal, for example. It’s dumb. I didn’t want to save it, I just want to copy and paste it.
The only game I ever beat was Fallout New Vegas. I’m not even talking about 100%, but simply completing the main storyline. Ever. I just get too hung up on side questing until I don’t like the game.
Snow runner was so much fun, until it wasn’t. Somehow, they even made just exploring a slog. The mechanic was literally “deep mud everywhere.” Just give me the first map 10 different times and we’re good. A new town to explore.
I have what is ostensibly a desk job, but when I was in the Marines, my go-to socks were, believe it or not, dress socks, and inside out so you wouldn’t feel the seams on your toes. A buddy turned me on to it and I never looked back. I was always fortunate enough to not have issues with blisters or anything, so maybe I’m just lucky, but a good, calf-high dress sock was my sock of choice.
But my regular life shoe is the Puma Classic, and if I have on short pants, I’ll don the lowest possible sock. As some others have mentioned, the rubber grips in the heel are great. But if I’m doing a hike, for example, and wearing boots, even my mid-ankle Merrells, I’ll wear a calf-hig sock, no need to play games.
I remember a friend of mine took the back rows out of his van and put in lawn chairs and bean bags. It was complete chaos, but it was youth.
Yeah, we had a friend with a Toyota Avalon that had a bench front seat. Cruised many blunts in that car as a young man, just three dudes crammed into the front seat of a sedan. We were asking for it, but fortunately avoided it.
Oh, I eyeball it all. That’s how I can run 30+ miles a week and still hover right at the edge of overweight.
I’ll take a bad movie that knows it’s bad over a movie that thinks it’s good every day of the week.
