For every bug the AI does not find and I have to spend 1 hour to realize the AI is not able to find and then spend 2 hours to identify myself, there are 10 bugs the AI finds in a couple minutes.

I can gladly spend the extra time when it doesn’t work.

I get why you consider this pedophilia, but it’s a bit iffy in my book. 14 years old is just one year younger than what many countries do not consider pedophilia.

Indeed we all agree that raping an adolescent will most likely mark them for life.

On the voluntary side it is a bit different to evaluate. I definitely do not think everyone over 14 should immediately take part in sex.

However I see nothing wrong with a 14 years old having sex with someone their age. On the other hand, having sex with someone older is not something I’d always condemn, but I would do that in many occasions. That is why in most cases the laws regarding age of consent strongly defend the minor.

Fair, I’m always scared to upgrade to a new Debian release and the process is always painful. But that happens every couple years and I can take a week or two to look into it before doing it.

I use fedora with wayland and use teams at work. The non official desktop program is completely unusable.

What I end up doing when I have a call is open it both in Firefox and chrome and check which one works first. I’ll open it on my phone as well in case neither works. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

I found that audio does not work if you connect headphones after the browser was started.

In general my solution is to push to use jitsi anytime I can.

Most devices I connect to my computer use USB A.

Without USB A I would not have mouse, keyboard, USB key, external SSD.

I guess it can have its uses, but it would definitely not replace a mobile phone for me. It may be good in an office where you get your calls by the computer and indeed for internet connection on a laptop, but it will not replace the ease of going somewhere and calling your friend to say “I’m in the square, I don’t see you let’s meet at this bar”.

TBF giving an authenticated cookie to a software is much better than login credentials, but still if you don’t trust the software and believe access to your account may lead to sensible data you should not do that.

YouTube, Spotify and other services have a great advantage over locally stored mp3: a strong recommendation system and a virtually infinite library.

It would be good to have a recommendation system which does not depend on these systems, but the difficult part is to get the data to build it.

I reckon the metadata scraped by Anna’s archive may be used to build something like that, but that will eventually become outdated.

The fact that the code is open does not mean it is secure or that you should trust the author. Malware can be in an open source software.

Indeed I’d say it is better to trust a stable project with many contributors rather than a new project just published by a single person.

That does not mean it is not secure, but going through the code and making sure it is secure is a tough job. On a middle sized project it will take you a few days to review it properly, if you even have the knowledge to do that.

These are all things which are quite likely in human written software as well. Indeed, after years of maintenance these things get ironed out, but most projects do often start with some degree of these problems.
