  • Back when people were saying that unlimited to knowledge was possible, they were also saying “don’t feed the trolls”.

When you engage with someone making a stupid statement or argument, you lend them your intellectual legitimacy. You implicitly acknowledge that, “this viewpoint is grounded enough to be worthy of debate”. In reality, some viewpoints are so absurd and ridiculous that they are not worthy of debate, and you get a societal benefit from simply laughing at them rather than engaging with them like they are legitimate people that can be persuaded by science and debate.

    Stop feeding the trolls.

  • Also, they give you a lead garment to protect the areas that aren’t being x-rayed. So the technicians are taking appropriate safety precautions for you as well as themselves.

Even without that precaution you get more radiation exposure from a long plane ride than from a single x-ray (less atmosphere above you = less shielding from cosmic radiation).

  • I just fucking scream at people if they use the “pronouns are hard,” or “I don’t want to learn new information,” excuse.

Just use they. It’s literally less pronouns to remember and you already know it. If you can’t do that, you either have to admit you’re a fucking degenerate moron or you’re a biggot.

As for all this fascist nonsense about sanctuary cities, I live in one. Every time I bring it up, people just suck their teeth and say, “IDK about that, there’s a lot of guns in this city.” These clowns have no idea what they’re getting themselves into.

The scale and frequency is unique to the US.

And it’s wild because the proof is in the wiki article you linked. Since 2000 there have been a total of 85 school shootings in all of Europe. The US (A single country) has had 630.

The problem is obviously significantly worse in the US.
